Fit: Fit felt a half size larger than marked
3/5
This boot is absolutely gorgeous. However, I normally wear a 7.5, and this 7.5 boot was too big on me. There was a lot of heel slippage and too much width around the shaft in the ankle and lower shaft. I did like that the upper shaft was wide enough to tuck in my jeans and cords. The front/toe fit ok, but I fear if I size down, it may be too tight. I will return these and perhaps try a half size smaller. Many reviews on other sites did complain of heel slippage so I'm not sure if it's a design flaw or a sizing error. There is no free shipping for returns on the Frye site so it gets to be an expensive proposition to ship boots back and forth. I would've ordered from another site, but my size/color was sold out. I'm hoping to find a boot that fits. At these prices, they need to fit perfectly and last 10+ years. My last pair (different brand) lasted 10 years and still going.

Fit: Fit felt true to size
4/5
These boots are gorgeous. I can't tell you how many compliments I've received on them. They fit a little tight in the toes when I first received them, but with some wear they opened up a bit. The heel was also very stiff and still has some lift when I walk; like any good pair of boots, they just require some breaking in, but expect a few blisters on the Achilles heel in the interim (wrap your arch and ankles in self-adhering sports tape while you break them in to prevent this). Overall incredible boots and the leather is to die for. I wear mine almost every day in the fall, so the lug bottom is also a very welcome addition. I also have thicker calves than maybe most girls, so I struggled for a long time to find some Fryes that would accommodate. These fit the bill perfectly.
Overall I love these boots to pieces. Only complaint, if ever I had one, was that the leather on the ankle on the front part of the left boot (just below where the ankle strap is) seemed to loosen up more quickly than the right side. As a result, the top of the boot sits about half an inch lower on that side. I'm not exactly sure what caused that boot to wear in that way, but I intend to take them to a cobbler to see if they can be reinforced or if something else can be done. It in no way affects the boot, or how gorgeous they are. In fact, I'm the only person that's noticed, but I'll have it looked at nonetheless. Also the Frye weatherproof spray is not recommended for brushed leather, so I'm not sure what to use in lieu of this.
