I bought these boots about last March. I love them. They look great. I can dress them up or down. They feel great. After the initial break in period, they are really comfortable. The soul has just enough cushion. I can just sit there cleaning and polishing them for hours. The only draw back is that at almost $400, they aren't even made here in America. The second con is that, and I don't know if this a just my pair, some of the stitching starts to come undone. The lip that meets the top of the boot just above the sole has started to come away from the boot. There also seems to be a cut in the soul on the inside of the left boot that is unsightly. That was there when I took then out of the box and looks to have been caused by a machine. The boots are comfortable and look great. However, for the price, the craftsmanship is leaves something to be desired. I gave them three stars for the price/not being made in the U.S. and for the craftsmanship.

I looked far and wide for a pair of boots to wear to work and back. I wanted something that looked nice, that I could wear to dinner and drinks after work, but that was comfortable enough to stand the stress of the commute by Metro and foot. Also, I wanted something that lacked all the trends of the moment, like the toe being dyed a different color than the rest. Finally, I have a very narrow foot. I bought these boots and then thought about returning them, because the heel did not feel quite right, and they did not seem to provide the cushion that I was looking for. Because I love the look, I tried different inserts. When I put a "custom" heel insert in -- you know, you've seen the display where you take off your shoes and stand on the feet symbols and have your feet "read" -- that did the trick. With that, and a heavy sock, these boots are just the ticket. I treated them with mink oil, use shoe trees, and expect to have them around for many years. I like them so much, I am going to buy the black, too.
