Purchased 4 years ago and it's still a favorite! Tough to get on at first when new but breaks in after a week of wearing them. These boots are basically bomb proof. I have practically beat them up since I have worn them everywhere and they still look great! Purchased a half size bigger to fit thicker socks. Buy your regular size if you plan to wear with thin socks.

I've been searching for the perfect pair of boots to wear all year round. Something to keep my feet warm and dry while walking about in cold, wet winter weather... and then keep my feet comfortable and protected from heat and asphalt while riding my motorbike in the summer. When I saw the 12R in black, I knew I had found my holy grail. I normally wear size 5 or 5.5 shoes, and have slightly wide feet and a high instep. I'd read many reviews recommending those with my foot type to size up and I'm very glad I did. I tried the 12R on in size 5.5 and 6.0. The size 5.5 boots were very tight over the tops of my feet, though they were true to size in length from toe to heel. The leather used to make these boots is very, very thick and sturdy, and I didn't want to be in pain for weeks trying to break in the smaller size. I bought the size 6.0 and wore them the next day for a 5 hour walking tour in the pouring rain. No blisters! I couldn't be happier with these boots and can't wait to pick out my next pair of Fryes.

I adore these boots. I bought them in the 12R charcoal. They are crazy comfortable, I wear them to work where I am on my feet for 9+ hours straight and don't have any trouble. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that after a couple months of wearing them, I decided to condition and weatherproof with the frye dressing. The dressing turned the lovely deep gray into BLACK. I loved the charcoal color and didn't want black boots, so I'm pretty disappointed.

Received these yesterday after a long debate with myself. I don't like buying shoes online because they never fit right. I have a lot of problems with my knees, feet, etc. I put them on out of the box and they are AWESOME!!!!! These boots felt like they were made especially for me. They look great, feel great & they're made in the USA!! What more could you ask for? I expect to be riding my bike for many years to come with these boots. I'm already saving for a pair of the Campus boots like I had back in the day.

Best boots I've ever owned! I'm a UK size 6 with wide feet & needed to size up to UK 7. Fantastic quality & style- they look great with virtually anything. They take a bit of wearing in as leather is quite stiff initially, but after a couple of weeks they moulded to my feet & now so very comfortable. I definitely want at least one other pair!

Just received the 8R in dark brown. They are beautiful as well as comfortable! I wear a size 8 and tend to need wider shoes, these are perfect in the width as well as length. A bit hard to put on the first time but after walking around the house for about 15 min, I took them off and put them back on with much more ease. The leather is so thick yet not stiff... I love them as much as my harness boots (which I didn't think was possible)! Another great addition to my "collection"!

I love, love, love these boots! So comfortable AND absolutely fabulous looking! Got them in Sand, which goes with just about everything. Still, wish I could buy them in every color!

I love these boots, I wear them every day for school, my desk job and for chopping wood this weekend. Heed MoutainVivew's warning, though..Last night I had to oil my frye's due to a lot of wear on them. They were Sand colored. Now they're Smoke on the rise and something between smoke and black on the toe (where the most oil soaked in.) They needed it, they'll be waterproof and soft and they smell nice...but they look absolutely nothing like sand-colored. Still really comfy, though. I'll be putting on a new heel soon and it'll be like getting new boots without all the break-in. Excellent!

Gorgeous boot and very comfortable. Sturdy, well made. Word of caution: Do NOT condition these boots with Frye leather conditioner. It will completely change the color of the boot to an all brown boot (the color of the toe cap). Frye suggests "testing" with conditioner before using, but this makes no sense. ALL boots MUST be conditioned on an annual basis or the leather will crack and dry out. If the color treatment on the boot is superficial rather than durable--as it is with these--stay away from the conditioner and hope for the best.

Just got these!!!! I was deciding between the "Veronica Short" and these. I went to Nordstrom and tried them both on - I fell in love with these!!!!! I got the Gaucho and they are so sleek and classy! I can actually wear them with so many different things! I highly recommend these!!!! Many people say to size down but I say that order your TRUE SIZE because they are tight but they will fit to your foot. Highly recommend that you get them! The price is a little steep but I have absolutely no regrets in spending $240 on these boots! Great buy!!!!!!

Pure love. Initially stiff, but breaks in and molds to your foot over time. The leather just gets better. Takes on all sorts of conditions. I now have, um, way too many pairs of Frye boots. These were my first, and, after 2 years, still my favorite. Gonna have to try the tall ones now.

I just bought these in Gaucho and they are beautiful! I love them. I bought a size 9 and I had no problem getting them on or off. I highly recommend these boots.
