Introducing FRYE’s Spring 2021 Campaign featuring singer-songwriter Maggie Koerner, a New-Orleans resident known for her signature hybrid of genres; folk meets pop coated in alt rock. As a soulful musician, food insecurity is a cause close to Maggie’s heart. When the pandemic hit New Orleans, she began working with her community delivering food from local restaurants to front line responders as well as struggling musicians and artists. Maggie’s new song “Be Somebody (Who Loves)” featuring David Shaw is featured in the behind the scenes video for the spring campaign. Shot in New Orleans, “The Original. The Authentic. The Only.” campaign reinforces the connective themes of the brand’s authenticity and the original sound of Maggie Koerner and her new track.
“The campaign also features R&B artist August Alsina, photographed by Robert Nethery, in his hometown of New Orleans, wearing Frye’s newest collection. August Alsina is revered by New Orleans residents for his ongoing commitment to the city where he was born and raised. August rose to fame in 2013 with his debut album, Testimony, which earned him the 2014 BET Best New Artist award. August returned to music in 2020 with his album The Product III: stateofEMERGEncy, which was released in June 2020 along with a 5-part documentary on his life.”
In 1863, John A. Frye opened the doors to his very first store, paving the way for countless generations of Frye artisans dedicated entirely to the art of craftsmanship. The result is beautifully made footwear, bags and accessories with a long and illustrious history.
