Unfortunately, the taoe are looked like someone took sandpaper to them, in stead of a modest scuffed and. That sadly made it a deal breaker for me. "I have owned Frye boots for years, starting with a pair years ago that fully justified its price tag. However, the quality has steadily declined. My second pair had quality control issues, and this third purchase—the iconic Harness 12R—is by far the worst. The initial pair was defective, and the replacement feels equally cheap, with paper-thin leather and a poor-quality outsole. To make matters worse, my original review detailing these issues was removed rather than addressed. On top of the quality issues, shortly after buying at 35% off, the price dropped further to 40% off. Receiving subpar quality on a signature boot—only to watch the price immediately fall again—leaves a lot to be desired from a brand of this reputation."

"As a long-time customer who owns older Frye boots from over 10 years ago, I am extremely disappointed with this purchase. Unfortunately, this iconic brand has experienced a severe decline in craftsmanship and quality control. Quality Control Issues: The first pair arrived with a visible defect that never should have passed inspection. While customer service handled the exchange, the replacement pair proved that the overall quality has plummeted. Inferior Materials: For a $500 boot, the materials are unacceptable. The leather is paper-thin, and the outsole is made of cheap plastic/rubber reminiscent of discount footwear. A leather outsole should be standard at this price point. Worse Timing & Value: I regret this purchase even more because the discount dropped to 40% immediately after I bought mine at 35%. Even at 40% off, the boots are vastly overpriced. Lack of Consumer Confidence: The heavy discounting and excess inventory clearly reflect that customers are refusing to buy Frye due to inflated prices, inferior quality, and poor customer service. I gave Frye another chance because of their legacy, but I deeply regret it and will not be buying from them again."

"This is my third pair of Frye boots, and unfortunately, it will be my last. My journey with Frye started over a decade ago with a wonderful $300+ pair that lasted beautifully. However, my second purchase (Campus boots) suffered from poor quality control and terrible customer service. Against my better judgment, I decided to give Frye one last chance because the Harness 12R is such an iconic silhouette, and I loved the Woodrose color. My experience with this third purchase has been a massive disappointment from start to finish: Defective First Pair: The first pair arrived with defects that never should have passed basic quality control. While the exchange process went smoothly, the replacement boots revealed a deeper issue. Subpar Materials: For a boot retailing at $500, the quality is completely unjustifiable. The leather feels paper-thin, and the outsole is made of cheap materials reminiscent of a budget, bankrupt shoe chain Payless rather than a heritage brand. Even with a 35% discount, these are not worth the price. Frustrating Pricing Practices: To add to the poor experience, immediately after I purchased these, the discount dropped even further to 40%, making the initial transaction feel like a poor value. Review Censorship: Most alarmingly, this is my third attempt at posting this review. Frye has repeatedly deleted my previous two honest, fact-based reviews. If Frye cannot maintain the quality of its two most iconic styles—the Campus and the Harness—and chooses to delete genuine, negative feedback from loyal customers instead of fixing the issues, the brand has lost its way.
