Boots fell apart before a year of owning

"The soles came undone after only 9 months of moderate wear. I’ve had other genuine boot brands last me years without any issues. I specifically felt good about paying a premium amount for the made in the USA harness 8r expecting quality. When I contacted customer service i was met with robotic canned responses with no accountability taken. I would recommend skipping your purchase at Frye all together. There is a reason why people seek out vintage frye boots over new ones and now I know why… Quality has diminished. Save your money purchase elsewhere"

Color not even close to product photo

"The actual Gaucho color is many shades darker than what’s shown in the product photo. For the price point and reputation of Frye, it should be far more accurate."

$$$$ TO MUCH

"When I took them out of the box, I put my hand inside and found that they had no leather lining. The cheaper Frye & company boot has a leather lining for half the price. When I tried it on, it was so stiff I couldn’t walk in it. It took about two hours of walking around in the house on the carpet to make sure that they were gonna fit before they started loosening up and feel like a real Frye boot should. I think for the price they should be leather lined. I think that they are twice as much as they should be also. Almost $500 for a pair of engineer. Boots is outrageous. It is summer so I have not had a chance to wear them out of the house yet. When fall and winter come around I hope I appreciate all the money that I spent on the Boots."

I was very excited to

"I was very excited to get my first pair of the 8r harness boots however when I received them it has a long deep scratch on the toe box and small scuffs all around the boots. If i’m paying almost $500 for some boots, i’d expect it to be in a perfect condition with no defects. Also it would help if the company can pre inspect the boots first before sending it out to their customers to avoid problems like this. No one even reached out from Frye about my issue. Very disappointed."

Not the Color Advertised.

"😠😠😠😠. Don't get me wrong here, because I love the quality of FRYE boots. I am a proud owner of 7 boots from them but I have only been disappointed twice between my purchases. This purchase is that 2nd time. I bought a pair of 12 inch and a pair of 8 inch Gaucho boots in different colors. Frye only had two colors for the 12's which were brown and black. As for the 8's, Fry had two color options as well, light cream and black. As advertised, the 12 inch Gauchos came as advertised. However, the 8 inch Gauchos did not come in the color i ordered; nor was this color an available color option to pick from. Frye has dicided to make me the owner of the same color boots in two different sizes. Why Frye? Please observe image one, as it shows the colors I desired and purchased. Now look at the two on the stove top. Does the 8 inch Gauchos look as advertised? I didn't even know this was a color option for the 8 inch Gauchos. Where are my cream color harness boots?"

Wow, this is the boot

"Wow, this is the boot Frye invented and it is indeed Iconic. I picked it up on the Imperfect Icon Sale as one boot had a deep scuff on the outer heel. The scuff didn't bother me as it resulted in a 50% discount. I wear Frye size 12 in James shoes, campus boots and this harness boot and it feels great right out of the box. I just might have to get the Brown color next time I see a sale. Also, I've sold 3 older Frye shoes on their resale site and used my credits toward this boot. I lobe this boot!"
