"This my 3rd one of these and I will buy it again and again. This is the absolutely perfect t riding boot. The leather is soft and comfortable. The slight heel and toe box allow this to be a super comfortable and easy to wear boot. I love it with a dress, legging or jeans."

"These are great boots. My new go to casual boot. And you can also dress it up. I love how I was able to wear them without breaking them in. They felt very comfortable right out of the box. They are actually good to walk in. My first Frye boot and I’m very pleased with this"

"Perfect classic riding boot! Very comfortable but I wore thin socks the first time and they rubbed the side of my ankles a bit. True to size and average width. Easy to pull on and off."

Very cheap looking, like fast fashion boots
"I think i did it wrong when I submitted a review through the email follow up because it never showed up, and when I sat with it I realized 3 stars was too generous and it was important to share a review for any diehard Frye girlies like me who may be considering these boots. I am truly BUMMED at the quality of these boots. When I opened the box they looked like fast fashion, I was shocked. These boots look so cheap. Nothing like my first pair of Melissa's. I got my first pair of Frye's, the Melissa's in cognac color, in the early 2000's. I have a number of different styles of Frye's and in 20 years as a customer the Melissa was the first pair I ever needed to replace. I am flabbergasted at the change in quality with this new pair. My only guess is I made a mistake choosing the lug sole. I thought it would be nice since I usually have my cobbler put a protective vibram sole on my boots to keep the leather sole intact. They fit true to size, and the color is fine, but it's nothing compared to the richness and depth of color in my old Melissa's. I deeply regret choosing these boots on final sale. They're sitting in the box with all the packaging because even after trying them on once or twice to convince myself maybe it's ok, I just can't bring myself to wear something that looks this cheap. Maybe if I got the normal Melissa 2 it would have been fine. I feel stuck with these lemons. I would avoid these boots. They are so disappointing and low quality. I naively thought I'd never want to return this boot and that final sale was ok, since I loved my first pair of Melissa's for decades. I only saved $30 with the Black Friday sale too, so I just feel terrible about this purchase. These boots have ruined my impression of Frye boots after all this time as a fangirl. I have heard that there are still some quality benchmade styles of Frye out there, and I have seen quality boots in their brick and mortars but these are not it."

I've been a Frye girlie
"I've been a Frye girlie for a long time, I have 2 or 3 pairs of Frye's I've happily worn for 10-20 years old now. I was really looking forward to these, I've been wearing Frye's since I was in Highschool in early 2000's. My first pair was a pair of Melissa's. I was pretty bummed when I opened the box, to be fair. I had needed to replace my old Melissa's and these are SO different. Granted, I chose the lug sole, thinking it would save me from needing to put a vibram sole on later to protect the leather bottom, so maybe that is part of it? They feel a lot like fast fashion boots to me, I know some of the Frye line are really killer and are still bench made but at this point I'm aiming to seek out vintage Frye boots from their old made in USA line, they last so much better and look much nicer. I've had these for months and still haven't really worn them, they just don't look like the quality boots I was expecting. So while they seem to run true to size and the color itself is pretty, I'm pretty bummed I bought these final sale. I guess you get what you pay for, if I hadn't done the black friday deal I would have returned them."

"These are beautiful. . . refined with some edge. They felt great right out of the box! They have plenty of room in the toe area for warm socks."

Beautiful boots!
"Incredibly good quality leather! Thick, but soft and flexible, I feel like these will last forever. The lug sole is durable and there is padding, so very comfortable on my feet. I took my regular size 7 and they fit well even with wool socks. Thank you!!!"
