I bought these in garnet

"I bought these in garnet a half size up from my normal size. They were gorgeous and they fit great. BUT they were clonky and loudly slapped the back of my calves when I walked and no sock situation would fix it. I sadly sent them back. I’m petite but I don’t think I have really small calves but maybe I need a narrow calf edition? Idk. They were really nice in garnet."

LOVE THE BOOTS - THE SIZE WAS TOUGH

"I was so excited to get these boots! They are gorgeous in person. However after reading sooo many reviews on the sizing (I'm usually between an 8-8. 5) I ordered the 8. They were very snug - tight on my heels and just didn't fit how I'd hoped. I'm exchanging them for the 8. 5 for more comfort and know the leather will stretch a bit when worn a few times. I have a pair of Tecovas Annie's and got the 7. 5 in those so was hoping they'd be similar to that given the reviews of them being a bit big. So - just know they fit different on everyone! If you can can, order 2 different sizes to try and compare if you don't have a store near you like me."

I pulled the boots on

"I pulled the boots on for the first time and the lining on the left boot ripped. Was not even pulling hard . Sent them back and afraid to order the exchange if this is an indicator of the quality"

Beautiful looking boot & color.

"Beautiful looking boot & color. Leather is soft except for decorative stitching where top of foot should slide in but its too tight to get foot in so unable to try it on. Im hoping to exchange for next size up but not sure that will fix the problem."

Please use better leather, Frye

"I have been wearing Frye since the 1970s. I have now bought my third pair of Campus since they started being made in Mexico (where great leather goods are often made). I returned the first two pair- The first (lt brown) was due to poor quality- the flaws in the leather were significant tho the color was gorgeous. The second was the bright blue- good quality but color was too bold. I just received the bronze and the quality is poor. One boot sags so much at the ankle that it sits 1/2-1 inch shorter than the other. The shaft leather is very thin compared to past eras in Frye. Disappointed, but I'll still buy Frye boots."

Disappointed in quality decline

"I used to own a pair of the made in USA version of these boots. The quality was unmatched and I felt like they were definitely worth the price. I had to buy a new pair because i outgrew the others size wise, and since the company began manufacturing in Mexico, the quality is absolutely terrible. I received two boots two completely different colors of leather. There’s no fresh leather smell anymore and the soles are rubbery and look cheaper. The leather is thinner as well. So disappointed in Frye for cutting quality and selling at the same price to make more profit."

Leather paint cracking

"This was my first ever Frye purchase. I ordered the Campus 14L in size 8. 5, which is true to my size. The shoe went on fine with a little bit of a tug when it got to the ankle. What I was most upset about was that the leather paint was cracked (see photos). The cracking was all along the back shaft of the shoe and the vamp area. By the time I put the shoe on, there was black speckles of paint all over my hands and thigh from trying the shoe on. The bourbon shade looked more like pure black than bourbon. I'm really hoping this is a one-off manufacturing error."

Poor quality build

"Poor quality and no company backing. The leather inside the outer and inner leather in the heal folded over. Not enough glue or poorly stitched. Freyr did not warranted the boots. Paid way to much for this type of service."

Not So Impressed

"I bought these boots thinking that they would be more substantial in the leg area. The leather in the leg area was very thin compared to the bottom of the boot. All the substance is in the heel and on the foot of the boot. They are so heavy and the back of my foot lifts up when I walk. They run a bit small too because I bought a 7 and they were quite snug. I was tempted to get a wide calf but I imagine they would like like I am wearting buckets. I have another 2 weeks to decide if I will return them."

My only complaint is that

"My only complaint is that they came slightly damaged (scratched and dented in the front) and in a damaged box. They had clearly been worn/purchased before I received them. Customer service simply told me to exchange them, but I wanted to wear them to an event and didn't have time to do so. Disappointing because of how expensive they are and how long I waited to buy them, but, yes, they are Frye and high quality, and fit well."
