"This boot is one of the most beautiful Chelsea boots I have ever tried on - which made it even harder for me to accept that they are too narrow. Exceptionally soft and well-crafted, the dark reddish brown is SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect for day and night. But alas, they are too narrow. I would KILL for these to come in a wide."
"I love Frye Chelsea boos. This is my third pair, not because I wear them down, but because I needed more colors :P still wear all three! I wish they still made the Melissa with a leather sole, but I’ll take the lug. One thing that bugs me with this pair is that the shaft is a little shorter, making it look a little less slim. I did have to put quite a bit of work into stretching them to fit perfectly (width) which I didn’t have to do with the regular Melissas. Not sure what the deal is there. Anyways, the leather is great quality, so it wasn’t a big deal. Just a few days with a stretcher"
"After sending me a pair of boots that weren’t even close to true size, and telling me there was no way to exchange them, I won’t be doing business with Frye any more. In today’s world, I am only going to do business with companies who treat their customers right."
"I do wish these Chelsea boots had a "softer sounding heel". They seem a bit loud. like clomping on our hard wood floors. Otherwise, I like the fit and the look."
"I am disappointed they are not made in Mexico. My Frye boots that are made there are beautiful. This pair is made in India and looks like synthetic leather. The quality is not the same. I will think twice before buying Frye boots again. Please note that I've been wearing them for 15 years. This is the first time I've doubted the quality and felt really disappointed."
