"Feels really good. Zip is kind of tricky but still works (1 week). Leather is good quality. The only problem I have is the size, I wear 7. 5, so took 8 based on my experience with different brands, it kind of roomy for me. I don’t know if 7 would be good fit or small."
"Save yourself the frustration and disappointment—spend your money elsewhere. Frye is riding on a reputation it no longer lives up to. I bought these boots as a gift because I genuinely believed in the brand—its history, its craftsmanship, and the idea that you were paying for something built to last. I used to seek out Frye boots secondhand because even worn pairs held up for years—unfortunately, that is NOT the case anymore. After just two months of completely normal wear, these boots started falling apart. A chunk broke off the sole. Not scuffed. Not worn down—broke off. To me, that is unacceptable at this price point. What followed was worse. The recipient of the gift was repeatedly denied help by customer service, despite a clear defect with their product. Thankfully, when I reached out, I was granted the ability to return them for store credit—but only “as an exception. ” The ACTUAL exception here is a brand selling boots that fall apart after two months, while still marketing “heritage craftsmanship. " And somehow, it gets worse. By the time I returned the defective pair, the price had increased—and Frye refused to honor a simple exchange. $250 is not something I can just let go down the drain, so now I’m forced to use the store credit to repurchase the same boots at a higher price, with essentially zero confidence they won’t fall apart again. This isn’t just disappointing—it feels misleading. A brand that once stood for durability and quality is now delivering the opposite, while charging more and standing behind it less. I rarely write reviews, but I genuinely wish I had read one like this before buying. I don’t blame the customer service reps—they’re doing their job. I blame a company that has clearly chosen profit over integrity, product, their customers, and loyalty. All I wanted to do was buy a nice gift for someone. Frye has lost what made it worth buying in the first place—and this will be the last time I spend my money on Frye again. I’d strongly recommend you keep yours, too. Bye forever!!"
"Do not buy Frye boots with zippers. The zipper quality and craftsmanship is extremely poor. Mine broke beyond repair after wearing only about a dozen times. I reached out to customer service but they were absolutely no help because it was more than 30 days and I was SOL (I read other reviews where other customers had similar experiences). This is not the reputation I would expect from Frye. Do your research before buying their boots. I feel the quality has gone down hill over the years."
